A North East IT firm is expanding its service reach after winning a IT support contract with a Cambridgeshire primary school.

Teesside-based YC Business Solutions was called on by the Park Lane Primary & Nursery School, in Peterborough, after the school experienced long-term printing problems and significant computer down-time, which the Company managed to resolve within a day.

So efficient was the service that YC Business Solutions provided, that the Company secured a 12-month rolling contract with the school to make sure that no further problems ensue.

As part of the IT Support contract, YC Business Solutions is delivering daily IT support to the school and helping to maintain its existing infrastructure. The firm will also be providing a brand new, full remote support service to ensure response times in line with the school’s real needs.

Having worked with various schools across Teesside, YC Business Systems is now hoping to expand further into Cambridgeshire’s education sector and attract work with 30 or more schools in the area.

To help increase its expertise within the sector, the Company has also recruited Colin Thomas, former network manager of a specialist science and arts college in Eaglescliffe.

Paul Alsop, managing director of Yarm Computers, said: “It’s really exciting for us to be expanding our services into other areas whilst helping various schools with on-going computer problems.

“The ICT issues that the Park Lane Primary & Nursery School was previously experiencing led to highly ineffective use of equipment and low staff confidence, but we’re glad to have been able to fix the problems and provide a solution for better child education.

“We’re now hoping to work with many more schools in Cambridgeshire over the next few years to show how we can provide the same solutions for them.”

Lorraine Quince, ICT assistant at Park Lane Primary & Nursery School, said: “I was seriously frustrated by the problems we were having as they meant that the work was just not getting finished, but I am more than happy with the help that YC Business Solutions has provided for us.

“When I phone the Company with any issues, they are resolved on the same day with no problems at all, and I’m now recommending the Company to other local primary schools as well.”
